OUR DEBUT ALBUM 'MORAL DECAY' IS OUT ON MAY 17 THROUGH PERMANENT RESIDENCE.

"The world is falling apart. It feels like the multiple calamities are converging and people are no longer buying the bullshit those in power are selling. At an ever-increasing speed, the façade of Western liberalism disintegrates in real-time via 24 hours a day social media feeds. It can be overwhelming and exhausting. We could have a ‘sook’, curl up and cry the eternal question ‘why me?’ as the collapse happens. Instead, Sooks perfectly connect the personal introspection of their moniker with the wider perspective of our regressive and oppressive world. On their debut LP ‘Moral Decay’ the band perfectly captures the concept that the ‘personal is political’. Like a flaming Molotov hurling through the air, it comes from the hands of an individual but captures the rage of the collective. This is hardcore punk that roils with intensity. Vocalist Ange is a vocal powerhouse, setting alight the tracks as guitarist Kyle lays down the hooks while Rudah and Morgin power the band with their driving rhythms. Progressing from their 2022 demo, the band have fine-tuned their rage across 14 tracks. Add ‘Moral Decay’ to the growing catalogue of Boorloo/Perth punk and hardcore bands that are putting the rest of the nation to shame.
